Precision Shear & Strip Cutter Knives for Temelsan MAK & Welding Equipment

A flawless flash butt weld starts with a clean, perfectly square 90-degree cut on both blade ends. Any burr, angle error, or deformation at the blade edge causes uneven electrical arcing across the weld seam, resulting in incomplete fusion, gas pockets, or excessive material burnout. Temelsan MAK series manual and hydro-pneumatic shear cutters utilize precision-ground industrial tool steel cutting blades to achieve microscopic cut squareness across bi-metal and carbon steel bandsaws. Zagora Saw supplies genuine OEM replacement upper and lower cutter knives.

Tool Steel Quality & Cutting Geometries

Our replacement cutter knives are manufactured to withstand thousands of high-tonnage shearing cycles through tough spring steel and bi-metal backing materials:

  • High-Grade Tool Steels: Precision-hardened and vacuum-tempered AISI D2 / 1.2379 and M2 high-speed steels hardened to 58-62 HRC for exceptional wear resistance and edge toughness.
  • Four-Sided Reversible Blades: Many Temelsan lower and upper blades feature precision multi-edge geometries, allowing operators to rotate the blade to fresh cutting edges before regrinding.
  • Micron-Tolerance Grinding: Parallelism and flatness ground within 0.005 mm to maintain uniform blade clearance from the tooth tip to the blade back edge.
  • Model Compatibility: Engineered for Temelsan MAK 01 MN, MAK 01 HP 80, MAK 01 HP 100, and MAK 01 HPX 100 shear cutters for blade widths from 6 mm to 100 mm.

Blade Clearance & Setup Instructions

Blade clearance between upper and lower knives should be set to approximately 8-10% of the blade strip thickness. Excessive clearance creates burrs, while insufficient clearance dulls the knife edges prematurely. Keep spare cutter knife sets on hand from our Florida warehouse to ensure zero downtime during high-volume blade production.
